My Masters Portfolio
I am currently a masters student at the University of Pennsylvania, Graduate School of Education. I recently completed my student teaching at Central High School in Philadelphia. I had the opportunity to work with truly gifted and thoughtful students in an environment that encouraged creativity and teacher development. With my mentors and my students I was able to explore an inquiry project that was truly meaningful to me.
My inquiry has two main foci, my methods and my theoretical goals. I explore simulation and role-play activities in my larger teaching practice. Specifically, I analyze whether these methods can contribute to my larger pedagogical goals of building my students' historical empathy and historical imagination. This website contains all of my portfolio including my analytical essay, artifact analyses, 2-week unit plan and a lesson with feedback. Both my analytical essay and my artifact analyses are separated by headings and subheadings. If you would like a word-document of my analytical essay, you can find a link in my introduction. *all of the names of my students have been changed for this portfolio |
